Dr Che Lah bin Md Joonos, his second wife Mariah and his eldest daughter Tulip were in Liverpool, England in late 1953. This is a photo of 2 of them. This photo was most probably taken by Dr Che Lah.
There were many shop buildings in the background. The buildings at left looked more ancient - like Swizz-French architecture. I see Times Furnishing, and Cowan & Sons. On the right was Bunnies Ltd.
Times Furnishing was household textiles. Cowan & Sons was a funeral home. Bunnies Ltd was a departmental store selling wedding outfits for men (grooms). Bunnies Ltd had a characteristic Edwardian-styled building with bottle-like spires. Bunnies Ltd was located at the corner of Whitechapel Street and Church Street. It has been demolished and was replaced by a modern building.
The place where my mother and her step-mother were seated has a new building, or is the new McDonald. Behind them is Lord St. In front of them is Paradise St.

- Bunneys Ltd has been replaced by Forever 21.
- Forever 21 occupies a corner building between Church St and Whitechapel. It is a big building.
- The brown building is still extant and contains 4 shops, including Gold Centre, Warren James Jewellers and Yankee. The brown building is in Lord St.
- Cowan & Sons (top unit) and Hope Brothers (bottom unit) have been replaced by HSBC
- HSBC occupies the corner building between Lord St and Whitechapel.
- Times Furnishing has been replaced by Burger King.
- Adjacent to HSBC is U..... After U... are Burger King, Gold Centre etc.
- McDonald's occupies the corner building between Paradise St and Lord St.
- There is a multi-storey brown building between Paradise St and Church St.
